Timmy, 52, of Accident, MD, passed away on Jan 3, 2009 with his loving wife, Shari, by his side at The Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia. His family and friends were with him throughout his last days on earth. Thanks to the caring and compassion of his family, CTCA and the Radisson, his beloved dog Lassie was able to be with him in his final hours.
Born on May 12, 1956 in McKeesport, PA, Timmy was a 1974 graduate of Elizabeth-Forward High School. Timmy, the second youngest in a family of nine children, was always a child of invention and good humor. Blessed with his good nature and generous heart, Timmy had many friends. He gladly gave of himself, helping anyone who needed it. He loved being surrounded by his friends as well as family to share stories, food, and drink.
Timmy loved coming to the pristine Garrett County as a boy with his family. He worked on the road for many years as foreman and window installer on high rise apartments. He was an expert drywall hanger and finisher. One could often find him whistling or singing as he worked. He built and managed Bumble Bee RV Park and Campground near Deep Creek Lake with the constant support of his daughter Michele and the generous support of his closest friends and family.
Timmy was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was well versed on current events and history and very passionate about his political beliefs. He enjoyed reading as many newspapers as he could. He appreciated the beauty of nature and worked to preserve it. He could fix just about anything. With his tough demeanor, he was an extremely devoted family man fearlessly defending the ones he loved. Timmy had a special reverence for Gods creatures, big and small. He took care of many throughout his lifetime. He loved to be around children and was a protector and mentor to many. Timmy was a wonderful father to his beautiful daughter, Michele (Sweet Pea). He was a special blessing to his step-daughter, Kristen, as he raised her like his own.
A living example of hard work, kindness, and generosity; Timmy will be very sadly missed by his family, his many friends, and Lassie. He leaves behind his wife, Shari; daughter, Michele McBride; step-daughter, Kristen DeWitt; sisters, Frani McBride, Patsy Brewer, Mary Laura, Chrissie Spiker, Peggy Gosnell and Claudia Spiker; brothers, Terry (T.J.)McBride and Mike McBride; and father, Terry McBride. He is also survived by his grandson, Timothy Wayne Sherbin (Tim Bob), whom he cherished dearly. In the 4 short years he shared with his grandfather, Timothy has picked up his wit and sense of humor and his love for animals and people.
